Back From Paradise!!!

Aloha...what an awesome trip Drew and I had to Kauai! It was such a blast. The island is gorgeous I highly recommend it. We stayed at the Hilton and it was super nice. Tons of pools and the beach was beautiful. We had the best time just RELAXING with our Pina Coladas(virgin of course)in one hand and book in the other. The weather was great! One day it rained but only for a few minutes..I love Hawaii's weather. It can go from rain to hot sun in minutes!!! We did a lot of beach hopping, site seeing around the island and of course eating! We had the best food there including our new love Puka Dogs (Hawaiian Hot Dogs) soooo good and I'm not even a hot dog person. Of course you can't go to Hawaii without eating Hawaiian shaved ice...yummy. We also Kayaked our first time. We went on the river to the Fern Grotto and also hiked a mile up to the Secret Falls. The best thing about the hike was seeing all the roosters! Yep your reading right in Kauai roosters are EVERYWHERE..they roam free it's quite funny. The trip on the river was 2 miles up the river and 2 miles back...let's just say we got the arm workout of our lives....or at least Drew did! It was fun though...they also had a great rope swing...Drew loved that. We ate at some great restaurants one was literally right on the beach. Drew was able to have a great red snapper and watch surfers at the same time he was in heaven. The food there was so good I wanted to lick my plate.(Thanks Ryan and Beth for the recommendation) We ended the trip with an all you can eat king crab buffet. Let me just say we we're there for LONG time and Drew had PLATES full of crab. It was hard to say good bye to paradise and all of our alone time! Although we did miss Brinley we had a great time with just the two of us! Thanks to my mom, brother and Drew's parents who helped watch little Brinny while we were gone. She had a great time...I think she was way too spoiled. Now we're back to reality and the real world. If only everyday was like living in paradise!!!

Trip To Arizona

Over Conference we went to Arizona for a long weekend. It was nice because everyone was together minus Scott who's still on his mission (can't wait till he gets home). We had a blast shopping, golfing, eating at Drew's favorite restaurant Oregano's and mine Sauce, watching movies, running Sabino Canyon everyday and eating my mom's famous Cinnamon Rolls....yummy! Most importantly it was nice to be home and to ALL be together. Brinley was highly entertained..the first night we got there she didn't go to sleep until 2 AM!!! Granted she did get awaken at midnight but still she was way too excited to sleep at all this trip..naps included! She loves all her Brinley Fan Club members!

Cafe Rio Night!

So a couple weeks ago we had an awesome Cafe Rio night! Everything was homemade and very authentic! I had the recipes for the rice, pork, chicken, homemade beans, tortillas and of course the dressing! Let's just say I was in heaven. And now that I can make my own there's no need to envy those living in Utah and AZ. I now have my own Cafe Rio in the comfort of my own home. It's so darn close to the real thing that it hits the spot every time I have a craving. That night we also got some great photos of Brinley. My good friend who is a great photographer knows how to get Brinley going..she's such a little poser! She was smiling left and right and most importantly holding still....now why can't she ever do that for me??

It's All About The Easter Eggs!

Brinley LOVED gathering Easter eggs.....I think because she thought the eggs were balls and she is totally OBSESSED with balls or anything that might resemble one. So she loved hunting for Easter eggs and had a great time doing so the day before Easter. Her Elmo Easter basket was her all time favorite as she is also OBSESSED with Elmo. So I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of that Elmo Basket all year long. She also got spoiled this year with Easter dresses from both grandma's so she wore a couple on Easter day. She didn't seem to mind the wardrobe changes. She loves getting dressed up! A girl after my own heart. All in all it was a nice Easter day celebrated with family and lots of Easter balls...I mean eggs!

Our Daughter a.....STAR!!!

Okay so I don't want to brag..but I am just too proud of my little STAR! Brinley graced the inside front cover of Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine in her first official Sizzix ad. It was a fun photo shoot and she had some great pictures..but this one was one of my favorites. She's a natural in front of the camera as long as there was chocolate on set! SHE DEFINITELY WILL WORK FOR CHOCOLATE!!

Uncle Tanner & Aunt Sara Come To Visit!

It was so fun to have my brother and sister come to visit us from BYU. They wanted to get out of the freezing weather and come to sunny California. So they drove all the way here through the night! They're crazy! But I guess we were all like that back in the college days. Brinley LOVED having them here she was so excited every morning to wake up Uncle Tanner. Although most of the time she referred to him as "Matt" I guess she still has a thing for her Uncle Matt or it's easier to say then Tanner. She loved her undying attention and trips to the park.....and so did I! We had a great beach day and thanks to Tanner and Sara's You Tube addiction she now says "OUCH Charlie!" all around the house. Thanks for coming it was fun times.
