Sea World Trip & Drew's Marathon

The first weekend of June we took a mini vaca to San Diego yes I know it was very far from home...a whole hour:) Those are my kind of trips!! We stayed the weekend at the Hilton at Mission Bay which was very nice and went to Sea World and Drew ran his Marathon. We got there Friday and went to Sea World all day and the kids loved it:) The kids loved Shamu and Dylan was facinated by the Walrus...we couldn't get him to leave. The shows we're too cute and Brinley loved the water ride. Dylan loved playing at the Seseme Street play area and had the best time there! Saturday we relaxed went to the convention center where Drew got all his information for the marathon and walked around all the health and fitness booths. Then we came home for some swimming and lunch by the pool. The kids had a blast at the pool and after we quickly left to catch some shows and other exhibits we didn't quite get to finish at Sea World. We ended the night with a pasta feast for Drew..he needed to fuel up for the race the next morning. It was an early morning dropping Drew off at the start line...but he did an amazing job. When we saw him at mile marker 20 he was still smiling and ready to go. Now seeing him at the finish line was a whole different story. I think the first words out of his mouth were "I'm never doing this again....I don't know why people do this!" Funny thing is he's signed up for the St. George Marathon! We are all very proud of him he did a great job and finished at 4 hours and 30 minutes. That is a whole lot of running!!!! Brinley was happy because at the end she got the medal:) Now that's how you do a race:)

Palm Springs Getaway!

Every year we go with a BUNCH of couples from our ward to Palm Springs and stay at La Quinta Resort. No kids are allowed and it's sort of a boy/girls trip because all the men do is golf all the PGA courses and the women shop, lay by the pool, eat yummy food, get mani's and pedi's and most importantly RELAX!! Then at night we meet up with our hubby's for dinner and the rest of the evening! It's a fun trip hard to come back from:)I look forward to it every year!!

Vegas Baby!!

Vegas Vegas Vegas...so it seems that's where we've been a lot these days!! At the end of March we went with a group of just our friends no kids... and had a blast. We stayed at the Palazzo and it was amazing:) We did a lot of great shopping, the boys did a lot of golfing and of course we ate at some great restaurants! It was such a fun time!

Then this past weekend we met Drew's parents in Vegas for an adult trip with all the siblings and spouses...once again with no kids. This time we stayed one night in the Trump (which I loved) and the other night at the Mirage. We did a lot of outlet shopping, hung by the very crowed pool, had mani and pedi's, went to a show, and ate at very yummy restaurants. The show was Terry Fator's "puppet show" He was the Ventriloquist winner of America's Got Talent and his show was hilarious! For it being primarily made up of different puppets it was highly entertaining. It's amazing that he can sing really well and doesn't even move his lips. Not only that he does all different voices. It was a great trip thanks Stan and Debbie and thanks to my mom who came and watched my kids and spoiled them rotten:)

Brinley Gets Her Ears Pierced!

Grandma Walker took Brinley to finally get her ears pierced she's been asking forever to be able to wear earrings like her mommy and of course she got her Grandma to make it happen. Drew was very sure that it wouldn't happen once she saw the ear piercing gun...but she proceeded to jump in the chair. After the first one though it didn't look good....she screamed and that means it must really hurt because she never crys. With much bribing and me holding her the second ear was complete:) Now she has pierced ears and couldn't be happier:)

Spring Break Activities

We had such a great week of fun activities with all our friends!! The kids were highly entertained! One day we did shopping and lunch at the mall..another day we had a pool day...another day we headed to the Irvine Park and did horse back riding, the train, the zoo and a picnic in the park. It was such a blast! Then to top it all off we did the bounce house place where the kids were set free to jump wild and that they did! It was a fun week and I was exhausted by the end of it. We discovered that Brinley loves to trot now while riding the horse and is quite the rider...she must take after her Grandpa Fenn. Dylan loved swimming around like a fish. I think he's going to be an even better swimmer then Brinley and that is hard to top. He just loves going under water and holding his breath and is not scared of anything...with or without his floaties he thinks he can swim on his own. It's going to be a rough summer keeping an eye on that kid...luckily I won't have to worry about Brinley:)He also loved jumping in the bounce houses and still loves balls of any shape or size. They're both getting so big and it's soo fun now to see Dylan interact with his big sister...oh how they both adore each other:)It's hard to believe another one is on the way! Good thing we call Brinley our little mother hen she doesn't let Dylan out of her reach or sight she's constantly taking care of him...even I sometimes get tired of it and we all know when Dylan's had enough...he'll start to bite her:)I don't blame him...hey at that point she deserves it right?
